This article covers how to edit a single Profile directly in the 360 Profile view. To make changes to multiple Profiles at once, head over to File Import or Edit Profiles with the Apsis One API.

Edit a Single Profile
To edit a single Profile, open the 360 Profile view. Head over to Audience and choose Profiles in the top menu. Search for the Profile you want to edit, or find it in the list.
Edit Attributes
Click the Profile you want to edit, scroll past the Profile details, and click the Edit profile button. Remember to save your changes.
You can edit, remove or replace the values in the attributes from the UI, Save when you are done.
Important information about possibilities to change email address
If the email address is used as the Unique Identifier for the Profile, this is indicated by the key icon. (The Email Attribute is the same as the Email key in the Key space.)
Note - If the email address is the key you CANNOT change the email address on the existing profile from the UI - Only via the API. You can delete the profile and import the new email address to ensure you are sending to the new email address and not the old one.
π‘ When changing an email address:
Make sure the new email address is not already used by another Profile.
Remember to update the Profile's email address in all Sections where the Profile exists.
β οΈ Note β CRM-linked Profiles (with active integration):
For Profiles with a CRM ID, the email address shoudl not be changed in Apsis One. It should be changed in your CRM system, and the change will sync back to Apsis One. Any events on the profile remain the same, so if the change is due to too many hard bounces (+3), please ensure you delete the original profile and add the new one, or the profile will still be blocked from sending.
Subscribe and Unsubscribe a Profile
Subscribe a Profile
In the 360 Profile view, click Add Subscription to add a Profile's consent to a Subscription.
βChoose the Channel from the drop-down and select the Subscription.
β
Unsubscribe a Profile
To unsubscribe a Profile from a Subscription, hover over the envelope icon to the right and click Unsubscribe.
Add or Remove Tags
Click Add or remove Tags in the 360 Profile view.
βChoose or unselect existing Tags from the drop-down and save.
β
π‘ Need to create a new Tag? Tags can be created in several places in the UI - however not in the profile 360 view - but only manage/edit and hide/unhide is possible from the Data Model for the Section. See Profile Tags for details.
Delete & GDPR Options
Individuals always have the option to unsubscribe or opt out from your communications. They also have the right to request that you share their data with them, as well as that you erase it.
Delete a Single Profile
Delete a single Profile by clicking the GDPR button at the bottom of the 360 Profile view.
βTo delete the Profile, click Delete. The Profile and all data connected to the Profile will be deleted from the entire account.
β οΈ Note β deletion is permanent: Deleting a Profile cannot be undone. If you only want to stop sending to the Profile, unsubscribe them instead.
To make changes to many Profiles at a time, use File Import.
GDPR Option β Export Profile Data
Click the GDPR button and choose Export data.
βA file download will begin automatically. The data is exported in JSON format.
π‘ Good to know: The GDPR export is intended for fulfilling a data subject's right to access request. For bulk exports to use in another system, see Export Profiles.
Use Cases
Updating a customer's preferences after a phone call
A customer calls in and asks to update their email and unsubscribe from the newsletter. Open the 360 view, change the Email Attribute, then hover the newsletter Subscription envelope and click Unsubscribe.
Handling a GDPR data access request
A Profile emails you asking for a copy of their data. Open the Profile, click GDPR β Export data, and send the resulting JSON file to the individual.
Handling a GDPR right-to-erasure request
A Profile asks to be deleted from your records. Open the Profile, click GDPR β Delete. The Profile is permanently removed from the entire account, across all Sections.
Tagging VIP customers manually
You spot a high-value Profile while browsing Audience. Open it, click Add or remove Tags, and apply your VIP Tag so the Profile is picked up by your VIP Segment.
Troubleshooting
β I changed an email address but the Unique Identifier did not update.
This is expected if the Profile exists in two or more Sections β the Unique Identifier stays. The Email Attribute is updated, but the key in the Key space is not.
β The system is blocking my email address change.
The most common cause is that another Profile already uses the new email address. Search for the new address before re-trying. Profiles with a CRM ID also cannot have their email changed in Apsis One β update it in your CRM instead.
β I deleted a Profile by mistake.
Deleting a Profile is permanent and cannot be undone. The Profile and all its Events, Attributes and Tags are removed from the entire account. If the Profile signs up again, a fresh Profile will be created.
β Can I add a Tag that does not exist yet?
No β In the profile 360view you can only apply Tags that already exist in the Section's Data Model. Create the Tag first, then come back to the Profile to apply it. See Profile Tags.
β I need to update many Profiles at once.
Editing one Profile at a time in the UI is meant for individual updates. For bulk updates, use File Import or the Apsis One API.
