The Tracking script

About the tracking script

Enabling the Tracking Script in your Magento integration will allow you to collect website data from your Magento store and feed it into APSIS One.

Enrich Profiles in APSIS One with website data such as page views, site searches, UTM tags, page referrals, Facebook ads referral, file downloads and product views. Learn more about the Tracking script and check out the full list og tracked events here.

Mention unknown profiles here

Profile merge: how is data placed on the right Profiles?

Once the script is installed on your website, Unknown Profiles are automatically created in APSIS One based on the cookie ID. (Ely_vID: Profile ID)

Visitors associated with your Magento account that are not synced with APSIS One are identified via their Cookie ID.

Magento Subscribers/Customers are synced with Unknown Profiles thanks to the Cookie ID, and (WHEN - what action) a Known Profile is created with both the Magento profile data and email address as an Email Attribute in APSIS One.

Both Known and Unknown Profiles are updated with their browsing behaviour in APSIS One.

Note: Unknown Profiles are created as visitors browse through your website, and a Profile that has been identified previously might not be identified in all of their future browsing instances.

In example, if a visitor clears their cookies or visits from a new device, they will remain unidentified until a merge happens with a consent-related activity(Benjamin wording - change).

Enable the Tracking script

Enabling the Tracking Script in the Magento integration will allow you to gather data from your Magento Store and feed it into Profiles.

1. In APSIS One, click on the User icon in the top right menu and select Settings.

2. Select the Section you want to work with.

2. Expand the Domains & Languages menu and select Tracking Script.

3. This is your tracking script. Click Copy tracking script to save the script.

4. To connect the tracking script to your own cookie banner click Run Tracking Script Independently and enter the Cookie name and value.

Note: If this option is enabled, the request for consent relies completely on your existing cookie banner. which must make sure that the data fed into APSIS One is gathered with consent.

In order to collect and store visitor's data you must acquire informed consent, which is provided by visitors through a cookie banner. Consult your legal team before enabling this feature to make sure that you have an existing solution for acquiring visitors' informed consent.

You may choose to add multiple conditions for when the tracking script can be run. To add more conditions, click on Add cookie. The script will be run if any one of the listed conditions apply.
