In the Event Tool you can allow invitees to invite guest by activating the Allow guest toggle. By doing so you also get the option to allow your guests to register them selves. Activate the Individual Guest Registration toogle by clicking it.
In the Sendings step set up sendings for both Confirmation emails and Guest invitation emails. We reccommend using the templates for a quick and easy setup.
1. For Confirmation email we recommended to use the Confirm profile data button with Profile confirmation link variable in URL.
When someone uses a public form to register for an event, and passes some email addresses in guests field the following happens:
A profile is being created with the provided data
The profile is added to attendee list and…
Guest emails are registered to the attendee list with information that the email address was used as inviter.
Guest emails are used to create new (empty) profiles with email address only (we do not provide guest names on form, only email addresses).
2. For Guest invitation email it’s the Registration link variable that should be used pointing to registration form, not the direct link to public registration form.
The Guest invitation email will be sent to Guest email address. It should contain link to registration form (that is different to the main/public registration form)
When a Guest uses the Guest Registration form link, the profiles first and last name can be updated on the profile.
When a Guest register to an event from a public form, the guest will still receive Confirmation email. This email should contain Confirm profile data button (configured as a variable in URL field). When the Guest confirms profile data using this button, we allow to merge profile data with newly provided values in registration form, so we would have guest’s first and last name, even when Guest won’t use dedicated Registration link from Guest invitation email.
