About Survey
Survey offers the possibility to collect information from a group of Profiles. Survey is ideally used for NPS or similar types measuring. It can be active for a certain period of time, or be "periodic" and reset for every recurring period.
Surveys are created in Forms & Pages tool and send from there or shared with a link in an email and Marketing Automation flow. It can't be distributed separately as a standalone link.

Segments Based on Survey interactions
In Segment builder, you can build segments based on Profiles' survey responses and interactions. For example, target Profiles who submitted a certain response, Profiles who gave a low NPS rating or those did not yet submit survey.
Let's have a look at a couple of use cases.
1. Segment Based on Preference
Let's say you want to send target communication based on Profiles' preferences between tea and coffee. One of your survey questions has the Profiles selecting tea or coffee.
Go to Audience and Segment builder.
Click Create new.
In the left column, under Event, you find the Survey interactions.
3. Place the Survey Question Answered Event into the Canvas.
4. Under the What tab, select:
Event data = answer
Match type = Equals to
Value = Coffee
5. Click OK.
6. Click Save Segment.
7. create another segment capturing Profiles who submitted Tea as their favorite beverage.
8. Click OK and Save Segment.
Segmenting Email content
Segments can be applied to email content in the editor, or to Subscriptions when selecting recipients.
In this example, we segment email content: one row targeting coffee drinkers, and another row targeting tea drinkers.
Row Settings for content targeting coffee drinkers:
Include Profiles who match the segment Beverage: Coffee.
Only Profiles who have submitted "coffee" as their beverage preference will be displayed to the content.
Row Settings for content targeting tea drinkers:
Include Profiles who match the segment Beverage: Tea.
Only Profiles who have submitted "tea" as their beverage preference will be displayed to the content.
2. Segment based on NPS rating
When carrying out NPS surveys, you might want to follow up with different messages depending on Profiles' responses or inactivity. In this example, we create a segment capturing Profiles who submitted NPS rating 10.
In Segment builder, go to the event tab and Survey Interactions in the left column.
Place the Survey Question Answered Event into the Canvas.
3. Under the What tab, select:
Event data = answer
Match type = Equals to
Value = 10
4. Click OK.
5. Click Save Segment.
Segmenting Subscriptions
In the send to step of email wizard, chose to include or exclude Profiles in the sending. In this example, the email will be sent only to Profiles who submitted 10 in the NPS survey question.
