About reCAPTCHA v3 in Forms

reCAPTCHA is a CAPTCHA system, that is a system that allows web hosts to distinguish between human and automated access to websites.

When you created and published your first Form activity, you may have noticed a blue and grey badge with arrows in the far right of your form.

This is reCAPTCHA, a service by Google designed to protect your data. In the context of APSIS One, reCAPTCHA prevents bots from creating fake Profiles in your APSIS One account and polluting your Audience.

There are many ways in which fake Profiles can affect your APSIS One account and marketing activities negatively, from harming your deliverability rates and impacting your Subscription' hygiene and trustworthiness.

How does reCAPTCHA v3 work?

Perhaps you're familiar with other reCAPTCHA versions that ask you to find objects, like bicycles or zebra crossings, or decipher text that is hard to read.

This version of reCAPTCHA doesn't require any action from the visitor, and does not use cookies. Another positive aspect is that reCAPTCHA v3 is a major improvement regarding the accessibility aspect.

Instead, reCAPTCHA v3 analyses the visitor's interactions with APSIS One and produces a score that classifies the visitor as either a bot or a person. This way, your Audience data remains clean and free of fake Profiles, which prevents your APSIS One account and marketing efforts from being affected in a negative way.

That's why you cannot turn off reCAPTCHA in your Forms & Pages activity.

If you would like to read more about reCAPTCHA, take a look at Google's documentation.
