About SMS Characters

While writing a single SMS, you are free to write up to 160 characters.

See how far or how close you are to reaching the limit below the input field.

If your SMS exceeds 160 characters, it will be sent as two or more linked SMS.

The number of characters per linked SMS will depend on whether it contains special characters, too.

Once you've written the SMS content and click Next, the following popup will appear if you've included special characters in your SMS:

As mentioned above, if your message exceeds 160 characters, it will be sent as two or more SMS. The length of each will be diminished due to the link space.

Avoid using special characters, since they require extra encoding and will shorten your message's character limit to 70 characters.
