Terms and Conditions Element

The Terms and Conditions Element allows you ask your visitors to accept the terms you have for signing up to your communications via your form.

This Element must be mapped to at least one Subscription in a Folder, and visitors are required to accept your terms to submit your form.

To create a form where visitors can select which Subscriptions they would like to sign-up for, use a Consent Element instead!

Forms with a Terms and Conditions Element also need an Input Field Element and a Submit Button to work as expected.

About Collecting Consent

You can request consent for email or SMS communications with the Consent Element and the Terms and Conditions Element.

While the Terms and Conditions Element subscribes Profiles to designated Subscriptions, the Consent Element opts in Profiles to Subscriptions of their choice.

Mapping Subscriptions

Make sure that you don't choose the same Folder and Subscriptions as you chose for your Consent Element!

While the Consent Element is not essential to gather consent, the Terms & Conditions Element is crucial as it will determine whether you have a visitor's consent for email or SMS communications.

The Terms & Conditions Element allows you to gather consent for designated Subscriptions, while the Consent Element allows visitors to choose which Subscriptions they would like to subscribe to.

Don't forget the channel!

Double Opt-in

Double Opt-in allows you to confirm the subscription of those Profiles who opt-in to your communications by providing their Email consent.

For your confirmation email and page to match your branding guidelines, you must head over to Account Settings and adjust your Double Opt-in options under Sections.

Before you can enable Double Opt-in for your Form, you must complete these settings.

Tick Enable Double Opt-in to send an opt-in confirmation email to the Profiles that sign up via your Form. If you leave this option unticked, the consent for all Profiles who opt-in via this Form will be automatically confirmed.

If enabled:

Once a visitor has provided their email consent they will receive an email message where they are asked to confirm their subscription.

Until they've confirmed their subscription, their Profile will show their email channel consent as pending.

Profiles with a Pending Opt-in Email type of consent will not receive any of your sendings until they confirm their subscription. Read more about consent here.
