How to Add and Update Profiles
You can enter the File Import Wizard either by clicking Import Profiles or by clicking Add a New Profile anywhere in Audience:

The tool allows you to perform different operations on the data that is imported from the file. So, first, you have to choose what type of import you want to do on the file data.
This is what you need to do to add and update profiles:
Click Add & Update on the first step of the wizard.
To Add means to import a file containing Profiles that do not exist in your APSIS One Audience, and to Update is to import a file containing new or additional information on Profiles that already exist in your APSIS One Audience. Whether you will be adding new Profiles, updating existing ones, or both, depends on the contents of the file you import.
1. Click on Choose file and select the file from your computer. We support CSV files up to 10MB and XLS/XLSX files up to 3MB.
A regular file set to show as columns will look roughly like this:
By choosing a file to import, you guarantee that you have collected the information in the file with consent (or another legitimate basis).
The file may contain as many fields as you find necessary. The first row in the file must be the type of data, and the following rows must contain the data.
Have in mind that the formatting of the values for Attributes in your file must be correct in order for APSIS One to recognize the data. Read more about Supported Data Formats...
2. Click Next after choosing your file.
First set the Unique Identifier for the Profiles in the file.
Choose the Subscription for the each channel you wish to add the Profiles to.
This means that the profiles will be eligible for receiving marketing communications on the chosen channels.
If you want to deselect a Subscription, simply click on the X button next to it.
Do you have consent?
If you intend to add Profiles into a Subscription, you must make sure that you indeed have their consent for those communication channels.
If you don't have their consent or if your file contains Profiles who decided to opt-out, do not tick the Re-subscribe Profiles who have opted out from Subscription box.
On the other hand, if your file contains Profiles who have unsubscribed from the Subscription, but you have their permission to re-subscribe them, tick the box.
Subscriptions must be created in advance.
3. Click Next to finalize your choices. The profiles will be assigned to the chosen channels and Subscriptions.
Let's make sure all the information in the file gets imported into APSIS One by matching the file's columns to Profile attributes.
Unique Identifier mapping
First select the column where the Unique Identifier is placed.
Consent address mapping
Choose the column to assign to the Profile attributes used for the channel. Typically, this is either the Email attribute or the Mobile attribute.
Automapping will try to match the file's columns to the Profile attributes by comparing their respective names and making some simple common sense comparisons e.g. "Phone number" will match "PHONE NUMBER".
To complete the Mapping step: Review the automapping and match the remaining columns to attributes if there are any.
3. Once you're done, click Next.
Tick the corresponding boxes to implement different rules to the logic of your file import in the case of duplicates, empty fields, existing Subscriptions
Update Profile Data
Tick this box if you want the Profile data imported to overwrite data on existing Profiles in APSIS One. This would only affect the existing information, so if the file contains data that the existing Profile doesn't, it will add it into the Profile. If left unticked, there will be Profile duplicates with different data.
Reset Profile Attributes
If your file does not contain information that exists in a Profile in your present Audience, this option will erase the information in the platform that is not present in the file. This option allows users to bulk erase data from Profiles existing in Audience while, at the same time, updating the information on new and existing Profiles.
If you don't what to erase conflicting fields, simply do not tick this option. Conflicting fields will be ignored.
You have two options when it comes to tagging Profiles with the File Import Wizard:
You can tag all Profiles with one or more tags, or you can choose a column from your file that contains one or more values that can be imported as tags.
Note that you must choose a column that contains the tags you want to add to the Profiles, and not Profile Attributes. The values must not be unique to each Profile. Rather, tags are used to group and identify Profiles. These should be used sensibly, with values that you will be using in the future. For example: "VIP", "Internal", "EME 2017"...
Tags are internal markers that can be manually applied to Profiles. In the File Import Wizard you have the option to tag the Profiles you import so that later you can locate them easily.
Another advantage is to tag the Profiles in order to create a segment for your next sending, although in the Send to step of both Email and SMS tool you can also filter the recipients by tag. Some businesses may have recurrent imports to match their internal data systems, and tagging the Profiles in this Wizard will simplify the task of communicating with the right audience. 1. Click on the Select tag drop-down menu to Tag the Profiles created as a result of the import, so that they can be easily found in the future.
To create a new tag, click Create new tag, add your tag text and click Save.
Tag Profiles with Column Value
1. Expand the Specify column drop-down menu and choose the column from your file that contains the values for tagging each Profile.
You may tag Profiles with multiple values, as long as they're separated with commas (ie "Golf, Hockey").
To choose multiple columns, click Add more columns and repeat the process described above.
Take a last look at your file import. Make sure that you have chosen the right Subscriptions, channels, and mappings.
If you need to modify anything, you are free to track back to any step on the left side navigation.
Have you double checked everything? Once you click Import, the changes cannot be undone.
Please allow at least (30) minutes after a file import before proceeding with any APSIS One activities. Profiles take time to be created in your Audience and they may not be available right after an import.
When you're ready, click Import. Click Cancel to quit the File Import Wizard.
